Today is an international day of refugees. And look at that – my master’s thesis that is still in the making is about refugees too.
And so I thought about my life in Jordan where I worked with refugees from Syria and Palestine for half a year and I thought – what can I make that is simple and has some sentimental value to me. And that is lemonmint (ليمون نعناع) – a drink made from lemon and mint.
I drank it on every occasion. A drink full of ice, sweetness, sourness and mint aroma. How could you not love it?
On the photos you can see how I drowned a chunk of ice in my lemonmint. It’s just because I had no small ice cubes and I was to afraid to blend the big piece. But the REAL lemonmint in almost a slush – with a lot of ice blended in it.
My ratio is: juice of 1 lemon; 0.3 dl vode, 1 tablespoon of honey, half fistful of mint and a fistful of ice. You throw everything in a blender and brr brr.
Of course you can use sugar instead of honey but you know – healthy life 🙂 Also I was a bit shy with the mint. You can also add a fistful of it.
Cheers!
